About Preside

Institutional IT intelligence — delivered to organizations that don't have the team to build it themselves.

Preside Inc was founded in 2018. We've operated, advised, or assessed 100+ IT organizations across mid-market and PE-backed companies. That pattern intelligence — not a copied large-enterprise framework — is the foundation of how we deliver.

Why Preside Exists

Most mid-market IT runs reactively. The cost is enormous and invisible.

We watched leadership team after leadership team accept "IT" as a cost center where outages, surprise budget asks, and compliance gaps were normal — not because anyone wanted that, but because the institutional muscle to fix it wasn't available at a price the company could justify.

Large-enterprise IT teams develop that muscle naturally over time: ALE quantification, vendor strategy, change management, compliance posture, executive reporting. They have the headcount to specialize. Mid-market organizations do not — but they need the same outputs.

Preside exists to deliver that muscle as a service. Not as a managed services contract. Not as a one-off consulting engagement. Not as a fractional CIO hire. As an always-on advisory program with a specific methodology, sold by outcome.

"

The first time a CFO ignored a color-coded risk matrix and then responded instantly to the same risk expressed in dollars, the methodology was obvious.

Built from operating experience, not framework theory

Most IT advisory firms sell frameworks adapted from large-enterprise practice. Preside's methodology was built the opposite direction — from inside mid-market IT operations, then formalized into the six-pillar Program when the patterns became clear.

The ALE-first approach

The dollar-figure approach to risk came from watching CFOs ignore color-coded risk matrices and respond instantly to the same risk expressed in dollars. Mid-market IT didn't lack risk awareness — it lacked a number anyone outside IT could budget against.

Why the Proposal Treadmill™ matters

The Proposal Treadmill™ came from watching the same organizations cycle the same problem through scope-bid-contract loops for years. Every Program pillar maps to a recurring failure pattern observed across 100+ IT organizations.

Operating Principles

What we believe

Risk in dollars, not colors.

Risk matrices are accounting fiction. ALE is a defensible number. We measure and report risk in the same units the rest of the business uses.

Pattern over framework.

100+ IT organizations of pattern intelligence beats any framework adapted from large-enterprise practice. Every diagnosis benefits from every prior one.

Direct over white-label.

When Preside is on the engagement, the Preside brand is on the report. We deliver our own methodology. We don't disappear behind another firm's logo.

Outcomes over activities.

We don't bill for tickets resolved or hours logged. We measure ALE reduction, dollars recovered, and time-to-resolution. That's what shows up in the quarterly report.

Built for organizations that measure IT in business terms.
